A new intersection

The cutting edge of the reproductive rights movement is its intersection with faith-based groups. Feminist leaders hope to build coalitions in areas where religion plays an important role in the communities. Reproductive freedom congregations, as they became known in Texas, are taking hold across the country. Sacred Gathering, which will be held on Jan. 25 and 26, will train pastors on how to speak to their parishioners about topics like abortion and birth control.
